Aviaservice 28th Birthday
.
.

On March 4, 1983 Stefan von Fedak along with his brothers and the company Dornier registered the name Aviaservice, C.A.;  At that time the construction of the hangar located in the Airport of Caracas “ Oscar Machado Zuloaga “ began with the supervision of German experts. Years later and after an exhaustive study, Aviaservice was granted the exclusive representation of Beechcraft for Venezuela.

Many things have changed and others have prevailed in time, always having as horizon its vision and mission. Today this solid company employs 70 people; it is a representative and exclusive service center of the most prestigious lines of the corporate aviation market and point of reference to Latin America.

To commemorate these 25 years, activities have been planned with his clients, representations and employees. Special recognition is deserved by those that are with the company since its beginnings such as Mrs. Felicia Villegas and Carlos Peraza among others.

“This celebration has a very special meaning. The creation of Aviaservice constituted an important contribution to the corporate aviation of Venezuela”. “We have grown and learned to impose ourselves on a very competitive market thanks to our employees and to the quality of the products that we represent” expressed István von Fedák, Vice-president of the Aeronautical Division.

Walter H. and Olive Ann Beech

In April 1932, at the height of the depression, Walter and Olive Ann Beech foundered the Beech Aircraft Company. The company's main objective was
to build a six-place biplane, with luxurious interiors, high speed of - 200 miles per hour and with a non-stop range of 1,000 miles, easy controllability
and sound aerodynamic characteristics.

All of these specifications were seen as unattainable by the experts of the time. On November 4, 1932, the Model 17R, made its first flight and the impossible standards set by Beech were met. From the staggering biplane to the Skylab, the Beech's, turned their company from a ten employee company to ten thousand.

After the death of Walter in 1950, Olive Ann became the President of the Company. At the beginning of her first twenty years in charge, Beech triplicate sales as well as supplied products to the NASA for the space programs. Olive retired in 1968 and died in 1993.

Together, Walter and Olive, left a legacy that can not be measured in dollars, but in the commitment passed on to their employees to built high standard aircrafts.

Frank E. Boland

On September 29, 1912, Mr. Boland, a US aviator flew for the first time over the city of Caracas. The airplane used was a biplane made out of wood and cloths with no tail. The aircraft arrived in Venezuela by ship through the port of La Guaira.

From the old racetrack located in El Paraiso and in front of an acclaiming crowd, the pilot flew during 27 minutes by La Vega, following the Guaire River, until arriving east from the city and returning through El Calvario.

On September 20th, 1972 by decree N° 1098 the feat is remembered every year as the Venezuelan Civil Aviation Day.
